• protection from thrombosis in a pulmonary thromboembolism model in which platelet activation was induced by tail vein infusion of collagen and epinephrin
• the lungs of these mutant mice were largely devoid of platelet thrombi
• protection from thrombosis in a model of arterial thrombosis initiated by vascular injury in response to ferric chloride-induced injury of the common carotid artery
• the mutant mice had no occlusion during the 30 minutes following ferric chloride-induced endothelial damage
• profoundly impaired agonist-induced activation of platelet in vitro

homeostasis/metabolism
