mortality/aging
• mice die at 14 months with females dying slightly earlier than males

homeostasis/metabolism
• cholesterol levels are high prior to weaning and decrease
• detected as early as 4 weeks in palms and distal forelimb extremities at 3 months, lesions are apparent at periocular and chest regions at 6 months, lesions are present in a wide range of skin areas other than head and back
• at 3 months, lesions are apparent at periocular and chest regions
• at 6 months, lesions are present in a wide range of skin areas other than head and back

cardiovascular system
• atherosclerotic lesions with cholesterol-clefts and deposits in the aortic wall

integument
• associated with xanthoma lesions on chest
