immune system
• specific T cell proliferation is significantly reduced in response to immunization of with ovalbumin and M. tuberculosis-containing CFA
• T cell proliferation in vitro in response to anti-CD3 is enhanced in cells from mutants compared to wild-type
• there is a decrease in frequency of B cells observed in the spleen
• there is a significant decrease in numbers of CD4+ T cells and TCRab+ T cells in the thymus of heterozygotes
• lower numbers of CD4+ T cells are present compared to wild-type mice; the effect is more significant in the secondary response to the antigen
• a small but significant reduction in the serum level of Ig levels produced by B cells
• IgG1 levels are reduced but IgA and IgM levels are similar to wild-type
• levels of MHC class I are decreased in macrophages and dendritic cells from the thymi and spleens of heterozygous mice
• Ifng-stimulated induction of MHC I and II is impaired in macrophages isolated from heterozygous mice; IFNalpha-induction of MHC I is also impaired
• levels are reduced in dendritic cells from the spleen and thymus
• level of MHC class II are reduced in macrophages from the spleen and thymus of heterozygotes
