N normal phenotype
mortality/aging
• more mutants die when exposed to Listeria monocytogenes compared to wild-type mice
• the antiviral response is enhanced and fewer mutants die after exposure to vesicular stomatitis virus compared to wild-type mice
• a normal mendelian ratio is seen at E17.5 however at P1 fewer than expected homozygotes are found
• surviving homozygotes are fertile and do not display a reduced life span

growth/size/body
• homozygous males and females are about 40% and 20-30% smaller respectively

immune system
• homozygotes are hypersensitive to LPS-induced endotoxin shock
• more mutants die when exposed to Listeria monocytogenes compared to wild-type mice
• the antiviral response is enhanced and fewer mutants die after exposure to vesicular stomatitis virus compared to wild-type mice
