mortality/aging
• mean and median survival are 13.7 weeks

neoplasm
• angiogenic islets are detected from 7 weeks of age
• solid tumors are detected starting at about 10 weeks of age
• mean tumor burden increases linearly with age
• anti-VEGF, but not sunitinib, treatment significantly decreases the number of grossly visible solid tumors after 21 days of treatment
• micro- and macro-invasive carcinomas are detected

endocrine/exocrine glands
• hemorrhagic spots are seen in the pancreas starting at about 7 weeks of age

neoplasm
• shows the same temporal progression of multistage islet cell carcinogenesis as mice carrying Tg(RIP1-Tag)2Dh
• early intervention (before 10 weeks of age) with anti-VEGF treatment results in a dramatic reduction of tumors and decreased tumor microvascular density
