• at E14.5 and E18.5, all thalamic projections fail to penetrate the diencephalic-telencephalic boundary and are misrouted into the ventral midbrain where they terminate entangled within the hypothalamus unlike in wild-type mice
• corticofugal axons fail to penetrate the pallial-subpallial boundary or extend within the subpallium unlike in wild-type mice
• however, the corpus callosum forms normally
• at E18.5 with a lack of thalamocortical projections

• at E12.5, peroneal and tibial nerves are shorter and thinner than in wild-type mice
• at E13.5, the common peroneal nerve is thinner than in wild-type mice
• at E13.5, superficial and deep branches of the common peroneal nerve are stalled unlike in wild-type mice with compensation from the sural and saphenous nerve that supplies branches to the regions normally innervated by the common peroneal nerve
• at E14.5, the length of the extension of the digital branch of the deep peroneal nerve into the third digit is 18% less than in wild-type mice
• the length of the lateral branch of the lateral plantar nerve in the fifth digit, a branch of the tibial nerve, is 9% shorter than in wild-type mice
• at E15.5, the number and order of branches in the medial digital branch of the lateral plantar nerve in the fifth digit are impaired compared to in wild-type mice
• the tibial nerve is underdeveloped compared to in wild-type mice
• cultured lumbar motor neurons fail to exhibit or exhibit reduced GDNF-dependent axonal extension unlike similarly treated wild-type cells
