• seminal vesicle glands continue to grow as mice age and show pathologic changes, including regions of necrosis and hemorrhage
• seminal vesicles are significantly enlarged in adult males
• seminal vesicle-to-body weight ratio is significantly increased in adult males
• adult testes exhibit significantly more seminiferous tubules per cross-section
• however, seminiferous tubule diameter and ratio of stage VIII to the total numbers of seminiferous tubules per cross-sectional area remain normal
• Leydig cells retain their ability to proliferate and functionally generate a hyperandrogenic condition
• an indicator of adult Leydig cells, Hsd3b6, fails to show the expected developmental increase in adult testes
• adult testes are significantly enlarged
• testicular interstitial compartments are significantly expanded and contain more MKI67+ cells than wild-type testes
• several Leydig cell progenitor-associated transcripts remain elevated in adult testes
