• 40% of ectopic digits originate at the carpus like regular digits unlike in Kremen1^tm1Dgen Kremen2^tm1Cni homozygotes where ectopic digits originate from digit V

• however, unlike in Dkk1 null mice webbing of bone elements is not observed
