Cataracts in CrygbClapper/CrygbClapper and CrygbClapper/Crygb+ mice

vision/eye
• develop dominant lamellar cataracts with lens opacity decreasing as mice age
• cataract in 3 week old homozygotes occupies the inner region and covers about 75% of the lens
• darkly stained aggregates, enlarged interfiber spaces (about 3 times wider), and disorganized and smaller inner mature fibers are seen in region of cataract

Cataracts in CrygbClapper/CrygbClapper and CrygbClapper/Crygb+ mice

vision/eye
• develop lamellar cataracts, however to a less degree than seen in homozygotes
• disorganized, irregularly shaped, and smaller fibers are seen in the deeper regions of lenses
