growth/size/body
• growth retardation is not as severe as in Gck1Rgsc and Gck6Rgsc

homeostasis/metabolism
• hyperglycemia is detected by P2
• blood glucose levels reach 500 mg/dl and remain this high for at least 3 weeks after birth
• histological analysis reveals reduced liver glycogen levels

liver/biliary system
• histological analysis reveals reduced liver glycogen levels
• histological analysis reveals increased numbers of fat droplets in hepatocytes however the gross appearance on the liver does not differ from wild-type

homeostasis/metabolism
• increased glycosylated hemoglobin indicating a prolonged increase in serum glucose
• mutants have a free fed serum glucose level of 200 mg/dl or more, this was the basis for selection in the ENU screen
• mutants have impaired glucose responsive insulin secretion
• during an oral glucose tolerance test blood glucose levels are significantly higher

hematopoietic system
• increased glycosylated hemoglobin indicating a prolonged increase in serum glucose
