• in a model of IgE antigen-dependent passive cutaneous anaphylaxis, mice exhibit normal dye extravasation (a measure of edema) and histamine release from mast cells
• altered levels of Th1 cytokines
• reduced levels of IFN gamma produced by spleen cells
• reduced levels of TNF produced by spleen cells
• mice induced with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein display none of the inflammatory reactions seen in controls
• symptoms are mild and infiltrates primarily restricted to mononuclear cells

growth/size/body

• growth and development normal to 10 months of age

renal/urinary system
• kidneys of 3 out of 5 mice have moderate cytoplasmic vacuolation in the tubular epithelium although there are no indications of abnormal kidney function

reproductive system
• females fail to undergo labor at term, offspring born alive do not survive
• if labor is induced using a progesterone receptor antagonist, 3/4 of pups born survive
• homozygous females produce smaller sized litters
• regardless of the paternal genotype

respiratory system
• lung resistance induced during anaphylaxis is slightly less than in controls and recovery is much more rapid
• bronchial hyperreactivity induced by anaphylaxis is much reduced, similar to mice unchallenged by antigen

immune system
• reduced allergic reaction in experimentally induced anaphylaxis
