• left ventricle contractile dysfunction and myocardial necrosis is more pronounced in isolated perfused hearts during reperfusion after ischemia than in wild-type hearts but less than in homozygous Cd74tm1Eae hearts
• infract size is greater in isolated perfused hearts during reperfusion after ischemia than in wild-type hearts but is smaller than in homozygous Cd74tm1Eae hearts

• mutants stimulated with LPS or SEB show a 50% and 65%, respectively, reduction in the plasma levels of TNF-alpha compared to wild-type
• macrophages stimulated with LPS and interferon gamma show diminished production of TNF-alpha
