• hypertrophy and thickening of the pulmonary veins as they branch within the lung parenchyma
• exhibit abnormalities in septation of the cardiac outflow tract and one homozygote developed truncus arteriosis
• majority exhibit defects in chamber septation
• 4/8 exhibit large atrial secundum defects
• 3/8 exhibit large ventricular septal defects
• exhibit valvular defects
• hypertrophy/hyperplasia of the pulmonic valve
