An (A/J x SM.A-T2dm2sa) F2 intercross fed a high-fat diet were informative in mapping diabetogenic QTLs to mouse Chromosomes 6 and 11. T2dm4sa, mapped to mouse Chromosome 6 near D6Mit287 and between D6Mit8 and D6Mit373 with a LOD of 5.2. T2dm5sa mapped to mouse Chromosome 11 between D11Mit8 and D11Mit10 with a peak at D11Mit122 with a LOD of 4.0
