MGI ID: MGI:5576462
Synonyms: EAAT2-flox
Gene: Slc1a2  Location: Chr2:102658659-102790784 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr2, 54.13 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:207177
Parent Cell Line:  D1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129S6/SvEvTac x C57BL/6J)F1
Allele Type:    Targeted (Conditional ready, No functional change)
Mutation:    Insertion
Mutation detailsA loxP site was inserted into intron 2 and an frt-neo-frt-loxP cassette was inserted into intron 4, floxing exons 3 and 4 of the Slc1a2 gene from the bacterial artificial chromosome clone RP24-315H4. The neomycin cassette was removed via FLP-mediated recombination, leaving exons 3 and 4 floxed by loxP sites. Cre-mediated recombination can be used to remove exons 3 and 4 which results in a frameshift deletion. (J:207177)
