Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Notch3tm1.1(cre/ERT2)Sat
Name: notch 3; targeted mutation 1.1, Spyros Artavanis-Tsakonas
MGI ID: MGI:5304914
Synonyms: N3-CreERT2SAT
Gene: Notch3  Location: Chr17:32339794-32385826 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr17, 17.37 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:179632
Parent Cell Line:  Not Specified (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  C57BL/6NTac
Allele Type:    Targeted (Inducible, Recombinase)
Inducer:    tamoxifen
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA targeting vector was constructed to insert the cre/ERT2 coding sequence, a polyadenylation signal and an Frt-flanked neo selection cassette in-frame with the start codon of Notch 3, by homologous recombination in ES cells. This resulted in deletion of most of exon 1. Chimeric males were bred to Flpe-expressing females to remove the selection cassette. (J:179632)
