Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Neat1tm1.1Shna
Name: nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (non-protein coding); targeted mutation 1.1, Shinichi Nakagawa
MGI ID: MGI:4949933
Synonyms: NEAT1lacZ
Gene: Neat1  Location: Chr19:5824708-5845478 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr19, 4.34 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:171281
Parent Cell Line:  TT2 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (C57BL/6NCrlj x CBA/JNCrlj)F1
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Insertion
Mutation detailsA lacZ and FRT flanked neo cassette was inserted immediately downstream of the transcription start site via homologous recombination. Flp mediated recombination removed the neo cassette. Quantitative PCR analysis indicates that expression of the short transcript is decreased to about 6% of wild-type and expression of the long transcript is absent in MEFs from homozygous mice.
