Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Ces1ctm1.1Loc
Name: carboxylesterase 1C; targeted mutation 1.1, Oksana Lockridge
MGI ID: MGI:4938302
Gene: Ces1c  Location: Chr8:93825643-93857911 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr8, 44.99 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:168821
Parent Cell Line:  Bruce 4 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  B6.Cg-Thy1a
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA targeting vector was designed to insert a loxP site upstream of exon 5, and a neomycin resistance (neo) cassette followed by a single loxP site downstream of exon 5. Cre-mediated recombination removed exon 5 and the neo cassette. This deletion is predicted to abolish protein function. The absence of carboxylesterase activity in the plasma was confirmed by enzymatic assay. (J:168821)
