Mutation details: A construct containing a CAGGs promoter, a floxed neo stop cassette, an Fto cDNA, and an FRT flanked IRES-GFP cassette was inserted via homologous recombination. Cre mediated recombination removed the floxed neo-stop cassette. Heterozygous mice show about an 8 fold increase in protein expression in the pancreas. Homozygous mice show about an 11 fold increase in expression in skeletal muscle.
