Transgene
origin
Strain of Origin:  C57BL/6
Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inducible, Recombinase)
Inducer:    tamoxifen
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(NPHS2-icre/ERT2)1Dnsh expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe coding sequences of (improved) icre and a tamoxifen-inducible estrogen receptor, ERT2, were fused in-frame and put under the control of 2.5 kb NPHS2 (human podocin) promoter region. The icre/ERT2 fragment was followed by the bovine growth hormone polyA (bGHpA) sequence. The linearized construct was microinjected into the pronuclei of fertilized C57BL/6 eggs. Three of four founders successfully transmitted the transgene to their offspring. (J:162633)
