description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Slc6a5-icre)121Veul expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsA BAC containing all coding exons of Slc6a5 and the 5' UTR was modified using a 2-step homologous recombination method resulting in the coding sequence for a codon-optimized cre (icre) including the nuclear localization signal being inserted in frame into exon 2. The modifed BAC was linearized and injected into B6D2F1 single cell zygotes. Seven founder which transmitted the transgene were obtained and five lines were analyzed (lines 118 (5 transgene copies), 121 (1 copy), 122.2 (1 copy), 122.4 (1 copy), and 128 (2 copies)). Line 121 was analyzed in greater detail. (J:160216)
