Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Kera-cre)KC4.3Wwk expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsA minigene containing a 3.2 kb fragment 5' of the transcription start site of the Kera gene, exon 1 (172 bp), intron 1 (1.4 kb), exon 2 (7 bp) preceding the ATG start codon of the Kera mRNA, and a cre minigene with IRES and nuclear localization sequences (NLS) followed by the SV40 polyadenylation (pA) signal, was injected into FVB/N oocytes. Mice were crossed with R26R reporter mice to assess cre activity. Founder line KC4.3, showing strong expression and line KC4.1 with moderate expression were characterized further. (J:149921)
