Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Glis3tm1Amj
Name: GLIS family zinc finger 3; targeted mutation 1, Anton M Jetten
MGI ID: MGI:3848053
Synonyms: Glis3deltaZF5, Glis3zf
Gene: Glis3  Location: Chr19:28258851-28680077 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr19, 22.88 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:148994
Parent Cell Line:  Not Specified (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129/Sv
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsExon 4, which contains the sequence coding for zinc finger 5, and parts of intron 3 and 4 were replaced with a neo cassette. Deletion of zinc finger 5 (ZF5) is predicted to disrupt DNA binding ablity and transcriptional activity of the gene. The inability of the protein produced from this allele to activate transcription of a luciferase reporter with a Glis-binding site was confirmed by cellular assay. (J:148994)
