Mutation details: A transgenic construct containing sequence encoding cre under the control of of the mouse Tek, endothelial-specific receptor tyrosine kinase (also known as Tie2), promoter was introduced into FVB/N donor eggs. Founder line 2352 was subsequently established. Cre recombinase expression is detected in most endothelial cells and blood islands of the extraembryonic mesoderm by embryonic day (E)7.5, in the dorsal aorta by E8.5 and is very strong in head vasculature by E9.
