Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Constitutively active, Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA transgene encoding a form of Akt1 that includes a Src-derived myristoylation signal and a hemagluttinin epitope tag was put under the control of the Lck promoter. Myristoylation of Akt1 causes it to be constitutively active. Transgene expression was detected in the thymus. This line had moderate expression of the transgene compared to one lower expressing line and one higher expressing line that was subsequently loss to thymic lymphomas. (J:73487)
