Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Slc6a9tm1Dgen
Name: solute carrier family 6 (neurotransmitter transporter, glycine), member 9; targeted mutation 1, Deltagen
MGI ID: MGI:3604567
Gene: Slc6a9  Location: Chr4:117692240-117726502 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr4, 53.62 cM
Alliance: Slc6a9tm1Dgen page
Mutant Cell Line:  4312
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:101679
Parent Cell Line:  E14 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Project Collection: Deltagen
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion
Mutation detailsA bacterial lacZ gene was inserted into the gene such that the endogenous gene promoter drives expression of beta-galactosidase. While RT-PCR analysis detects high levels of RNA transcripts in the pancreas and lower levels in many of the other tissues examined, beta-galactosidase expression from this allele is detectable in most tissues examined except for thymus, spleen, lymph nodes, bone marrow and ovary.
