Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Humanized sequence, Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Prnp-MAPT*P301L)JNPL3Hlmc expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe mouse prion protein promoter was used to drive expression of human microtubule-associated protein tau with a P301L substitution. Hemizygous mice mice expressed the protein at levels roughly equivalent to that of endogenous tau. A largely neuronal expression pattern was shown by in situ hybridization, with strongest signals in the cerebellum and hippocampus, followed by the thalamus, hypothalamus, spinal cord, brainstem and cortex.
