Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:99310
Parent Cell Line:  CJ7 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S1/Sv-Oca2+ Tyr+ Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Modified isoform(s))
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsA loxP site was inserted into intron 1 and a neomycin resistance gene cassette with a loxP site was inserted into intron 2. The neo cassette and exon 2 were removed by transfecting a GFP-Cre plasmid followed by fluorescence-activated cell sorting for GFP+ cells. This allele emulates the N-terminally truncated human "s" isoform that is translated from the downstream ATG start codon in exon 3. (J:99310, J:152597)
