Strain of Origin:  129S4/SvJae
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance gene replaced part of the 5' upstream promoter, exon 1 and part of intron 1, including the AUG start codon, 106 additional codons and a 5' UTR of at least 145 nucleotides. Northern blot indicated absence of transcript in brains of mutant mice. Further confirmation was provided by Western blot analysis showing lack of wild-type protein in brains of mutant mice.
