Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Ptprn2tm1Aln
Name: protein tyrosine phosphatase, receptor type, N polypeptide 2; targeted mutation 1, Abner Louis Notkins
MGI ID: MGI:3051779
Synonyms: IA-2Beta-
Gene: Ptprn2  Location: Chr12:116485720-117276849 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr12, 62.65 cM, cytoband F
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:91889
Parent Cell Line:  J1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S4/SvJae
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance gene replaced part of the 5' upstream promoter, exon 1 and part of intron 1, including the AUG start codon, 106 additional codons and a 5' UTR of at least 145 nucleotides. Northern blot indicated absence of transcript in brains of mutant mice. Further confirmation was provided by Western blot analysis showing lack of wild-type protein in brains of mutant mice.
