Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(HBB-cre)27038Kpe expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThis transgene expresses Cre recombinase under the control of a human beta-globin gene promoter and a beta-globin locus control region (LCR). The inserted copy number was determined to be 5. Expression of Cre was determined by crosses to a reporter strain, and was shown to be present in the erythroid compartment throughout development, including the yolk sac during primitive erythropoiesis, the liver during fetal definitive erythropoiesis and the bone marrow during adult definitive erythropoiesis. Cre activity was also noted in the peripheral circulation during development, in the adult liver and in some megakaryocytes. No expression in the germ line was detected. (J:89725)
