Name: potassium channel, subfamily K, member 2; targeted mutation 1, Michel Lazdunski
MGI ID: MGI:3050220
Synonyms: Trek-1-, TREK1-, TREK-1 KO
Gene: Kcnk2  Location: Chr1:189207930-189402273 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr1, 94.22 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:91531
Parent Cell Line:  Not Specified (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsCrossing with mice ubiquitously expressing Cre recombinase, floxed exon 3 and a 3' neo were excised in the germ line. Exon 3 encodes the first transmembrain domain. PCR of testicular cDNA indicated that mutants expressed only a truncated transcript, shown by sequencing to be the result of the 311 deleted nucleotides from the targeted exon. (J:91531)
