description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Pax2-cre)1Akg expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsA 121kb segment of the Pax2 gene which included 101 kb of sequence upstream of exon1, all of exons 1 and 2, part of exon 3, as well as introns 1 and 2, was modified by the insertion of IRES-cre into exon 2. Cre expression was demonstrated in the otic placode starting at the 6-7 somite stage. Cre expression also occurred in the midbrain-hindbrain boundary and the embryonic kidney. Two founders showed germline transmission of cre, and the line that displayed stronger cre mRNA expression was designated by MGI as line 1. (J:89784)
