Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Foxl2tm1Tre
Name: forkhead box L2; targeted mutation 1, Mathias Treier
MGI ID: MGI:3029503
Synonyms: Foxl2lacZ
Gene: Foxl2  Location: Chr9:98955607-98956847 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr9, 51.41 cM, cytoband E4
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:87737
Parent Cell Line:  E14 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsThe sequence encoding amino acids 62-375 was replaced with an in frame nls-lacZ cassette followed by a floxed neomycine resistance gene. This deletes almost the entire the forkhead/winged-helix domain. The neomycin gene was subsequently excised. Western blot analysis of protein extracts from neonatal ovaries detected only lacZ fusion proteins and not the wild-type protein. (J:87737)
