Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:81785
Parent Cell Line:  MPI-II (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S2/SvPas
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe gene was disrupted by replacement of exons 2-11 with a lacZ-neo cassette via homologous recombination. The targeted mutation results in deletion of the second transmembrane domain as well as most of the extracellular domain. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was confirmed by Northern blot analysis of dorsal root ganglion cells using a probe to exon 1. (J:81785)
