origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:81046
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA 120 bp exon of the gene was flanked with a loxP site and a floxed PGK-neo cassette. Transient expression of cre recombinase in correctly targeted ES cells resulted in deletion of this floxed exon and is predicted to create a premature stop codon at amino acid 82, thus producing a non-functional protein product.
