Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Gclmtm1Tdal
Name: glutamate-cysteine ligase, modifier subunit; targeted mutation 1, Timothy P Dalton
MGI ID: MGI:2447852
Synonyms: Gclm(-), GCLM-
Gene: Gclm  Location: Chr3:122245487-122267215 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr3, 52.94 cM, cytoband H1-3
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:80927
Parent Cell Line:  Other (see notes) (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsExon 1 was disrupted by the insertion of a neomycin selection cassette. The 3' splice donor site of intron 1 was deleted and translation from either of the putative start codons is expected to terminate after 61 residues. Neither normal transcript nor normal protein was detected by Northern and Western blot analyses of liver and kidney tissue obtained from homozygous mutant mice. (J:80927)
