Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Serpina5tm1Gei
Name: serine (or cysteine) peptidase inhibitor, clade A, member 5; targeted mutation 1, Margarethe Geiger
MGI ID: MGI:2445835
Synonyms: PCI-
Gene: Serpina5  Location: Chr12:104101113-104106137 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr12, 53.3 cM, cytoband F1
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:66422
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Disruption caused by insertion of vector
Mutation detailsA 3.6 kb fragment containing a portion of exon 2, exons 3 and 4, and a portion of exon 5, was replaced by with a neomycin selection cassette. No transcript was detected in the testes or ovaries of homozygous mutant mice by RT-PCR analysis. Both Western blot analysis and ELISA indicated an absence of endogenous protein in the testes of homozygous mutant mice. (J:66422)
