Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Cdk5r2tm1Lht
Name: cyclin-dependent kinase 5, regulatory subunit 2 (p39); targeted mutation 1, Li-Huei Tsai
MGI ID: MGI:2387662
Synonyms: p39-
Gene: Cdk5r2  Location: Chr1:74854934-74857732 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr1, 38.54 cM, cytoband C3
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:71181
Parent Cell Line:  J1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S4/SvJae
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance cassette in the reverse orientation replaced 1 kb of the coding region resulting in deletion of amino acids 1-346 and 100 bp of upstream noncoding sequences. Absence of gene expression in homozygous animals was demonstrated by Western blot analysis of whole brain lysates. Histone 1 kinase activity is also absent in brain lysates of homozygous mutant animals. (J:71181)
