Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Ube2btm1Jhjh
Name: ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2B; targeted mutation 1, Jan H J Hoeijmakers
MGI ID: MGI:2183933
Synonyms: HR6b-, mHR6B-
Gene: Ube2b  Location: Chr11:51985497-52000762 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr11, 31.82 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:35244
Parent Cell Line:  E14 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Insertion
Mutation detailsExon 1 was disrupted by the insertion of a neomycin selection cassette immediately following the start codon. Northern blot analysis showed an absence of transcript in homozygous mutant mice. The absence of protein produced from Ube2b was determined via Western blot analysis of testicular extracts. Further analysis showed that the level of protein produced from the homologous Ube2a locus was unaffected by the targeting event. (J:35244)
