Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsExons 3 through 5 were replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. The deleted region encoded the majority of the Trp53-binding domain (amino acids 27-96). Aberrant splicing around the neo transgene would result in a frameshift mutation. Protein was undetected in homozygous mutant mice by Western blot analysis. (J:71532)
