Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Cacna1gtm1Hssh
Name: calcium channel, voltage-dependent, T type, alpha 1G subunit; targeted mutation 1, Hee-Sup Shin
MGI ID: MGI:2182962
Synonyms: alpha1G-, Cav3.1-
Gene: Cacna1g  Location: Chr11:94408391-94474198 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr11, 58.9 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:70557
Parent Cell Line:  J1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S4/SvJae
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsThe exon encoding N-terminal residues 82-118 was replaced with a neomycin resistance gene via homologous recombination. Western blot analysis of brain membrane fractions from homozygous mutant animals did not detect protein product. Whole cell voltage clamp analysis of thalamocortical relay neurons from homozygous mutants detected no calcium current thus confirming the functional ablation of the protein. (J:70557)
