Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:59006
Parent Cell Line:  RW-4 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129X1/SvJ
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsPortions of exon 3 and exon 4 were replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. The deleted region encodes amino acids 92 through 164. An absence of transcript and protein was determined in homozygous mutant mice via an S1 nuclease protection assay and Western blot analysis, both of bone marrow. Assays of extracts using a colorimetric peptide showed a lack of proteolytic activity in homozygous mutant mice. (J:59006)
