Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Adh7tm1Gdu
Name: alcohol dehydrogenase 7 (class IV), mu or sigma polypeptide; targeted mutation 1, Gregg Duester
MGI ID: MGI:2180102
Synonyms: Adh4-
Gene: Adh7  Location: Chr3:138217760-138233382 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr3, 64.13 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:56168
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA PGK-neo cassette replaced the promoter and exons 1 through 6. Northern blot analysis showed an absence of transcript in extracts isolated from the stomach and skin tissue of homozygous mutant mice. Western blot analysis confirmed a lack of encoded protein and normal levels of other alcohol dehydrogenases in homozygous mutant animals. (J:56168)
