Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Abcb1atm1Bor
Name: ATP-binding cassette, sub-family B (MDR/TAP), member 1A; targeted mutation 1, Piet Borst
MGI ID: MGI:2180054
Synonyms: mdr1a-
Gene: Abcb1a  Location: Chr5:8710077-8798575 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr5, 3.43 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:18554
Parent Cell Line:  E14 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA 1.6-kb fragment containing exons 6 and 7 and encoding the extracellular, transmembrane, and cytoplasmic domains, was replaced by the insertion of a hygromycin cassette. While low levels of transcript were detected in the intestines of homozygous mutant mice by RNAase protection assays, immunoblot analysis showed an absence of protein expression. (J:18554)
