Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:66267
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsAn IRES-lacZ gene followed by a neomycin resistance cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing part of exon 2 and intron 2. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that the encoded transcript was not detectable in homozygous mice. Western blot anlaysis on extracts derived from adipocytes and testis of homozygous mice confirmed that no detectable protein is expressed from this allele. (J:66267)
