description
Allele Type:    Targeted
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsMice homozygous for the Thrbtm1Syc allele were mated to EIIa-Cre transgenic mice to generate mice that carry a germline deletion of the neomycin resistance gene. RT-PCR studies of liver and brown adipocytes from mice homozygous for the final allele indicate that the mutant allele is expressed at the RNA level in expected T3 target tissues. Northern analyses of liver, heart, and brain indicate that levels of transcription of both the mutated and wild-type alleles were not significantly different in heterozygous and homozygous mutant mice, and wild-type mice.
