Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:64222
Parent Cell Line:  E14TG2a (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsGenomic sequences corresponding to part of intron 1 and 90 bp of intron 2 were replaced by a neomycin resistance cassette. RT-PCR analysis demonstrated that a nonfunctional message is produced from this allele in total RNA derived from spleen. Binding assays demonstrated a lack of functional protein in homozygous mice.
