description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic
Mutations:    Deletion, Insertion, Inversion

Mutation detailsA transgene containing a hybrid DNA construct, which includes the regulatory sequences of the mouse alpha-crystallin gene and the early region of SV40, inserted into the gene. A founder mouse from one microinjection event produced offspring carrying two different integration sites. The subsequent lines were called EdarTgN(OVE1A)Ove and EdarTgN(OVE1B)Ove. In both cases, integration was accompanied by a genomic deletion and an intrachromosomal inversion. The deletions were found to be overlapping. This allele is defined by a noncomplementation test with Edardl, and contains a 600 kb deletion. (J:10318, J:50575, J:56496)
