Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Apoc3tm1Unc
Name: apolipoprotein C-III; targeted mutation 1, University of North Carolina
MGI ID: MGI:1857128
Synonyms: apoc3-
Gene: Apoc3  Location: Chr9:46233050-46235636 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr9, 25.36 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:21750
Parent Cell Line:  E14TG2a (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA genomic fragment containing exon 4 was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. Northern blot analysis indicated that no stable transcript was produced from this allele in homozygous mice. Expression of the Apoa1 and Apoa4 genes that lie in close proximity to Apoc3 are reduced by half in the intestine of homozygotes but not in the liver. (J:21750)
