description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA loxP site was inserted just upstream of exon 2 (containing the ATG start codon). A floxed neomycin resistance cassette was also inserted in intron 3. The resistance cassette was removed prior to blastocyst injection, presumably by transient cre excision. This left exons 2 and 3 flanked by loxP sites. Miced with this floxed allele were then crossed to mice carrying a Zp3-cre transgene to produce the deleted allele. (J:167430)
